NIXON – CARTER – REGAN- CLINTON- BUSH

Nixon ordered a daring break-in

All, for a political win

It wasn’t just a Motel

But the Watergate Hotel

 

Carter saw himself so morally tall

He allowed the Shah to fall,

Khomeini took the Americans Hostage

And kept them one year in bondage

 

Regan swore to be straight and strong

If others did us wrong,

Trading weapons for hostages was politically fatal

Caught he was, in the Iran-Contra scandal

 

Clinton; “I had no sexual relationship with that woman!”

In trying to hide his imperfection,

Finding Monica’s dress with Clinton’s stain

It was only then, from lies, did he refrain

 

Bush’s vituperate was very loud

About Saddam’s mushroom clouds,

Invasion was his manipulative tactic

Now it’s so sad and grossly tragic!

Author’s Comments

Governments try to live out the axiom that if you lie big enough and long enough, somehow, the lie becomes truth. True and false applies to inadvertent errors, however, willful manipulation of the truth – IS A LIE! There is no right way to do wrong and no wrong way to do right. We are all fallible and that makes us imperfect human beings. God in His wisdom gave us hindsight and did not allow foresight for us to see in advance, our entire sojourners walk. Thus we should use hindsight to learn and correct the errors of the yesterdays, so that we can have better tomorrows!
