A HUMAN’S WEB
Like thunder, lightning and rain
Mind, body and heart is in pain
My innumerable wrongs
Resplendency, no longer exists in songs

Reverence should be my confidence
But depleted I am, from all prudence
Far removed from being sagacious
I dwell amongst the pious

Once prodigious by privet
Sensibilities I now neglect,
Like proverbial sayings with double meaning
I can’t seem to stop my endless groaning

Driven by pain expressing my malediction
Searching to find my malefaction,
Cannot my taste discern the unsavory?
In my Lord, I shall yet find victory!

Sometimes we are forgetful of this truth, that the nearer we live to God the more intensely we are apt to mourn over our own hearts, and the more our Master honors us in His service, the more also doth the evil of the flesh vex and tease us day by day.
