COMA!
Laying in a semi-coma, senses slowing drifting
Trying to stop me from slipping away, Doctors are rushing
Mine eyes are opened but I can no longer see
Still, is my lifeless body, as my spirit departs from me

Suddenly, in a dungeon below, endless cries and screams
Locked in this massive cage, by giant wooden beams
No one seems to know where they are or what is their fate?
Shockingly, I realized, I entered Hades gate

Mused, I am, from what I see, calmness betwixt me
I see a white robe, sandals and feet, but His face I cannot see
He reaches out His nail pierced hand
Whispering, I will take you to the Promised Land

In a darkness as black as can be
Softly he says, take these steps with me
For in the not too distant Shore
Darkness shall be no more

I am returning you to complete your sojourner’s walk
Spread my words with those you meet, and with whom you talk
Your spirit has had a taste of Heaven
Expound my message to all of my children…

On November 6th 1996, in Los Angeles, California, I fell into a diabetic coma and remained in the coma for six days and six nights. I awoke on the 7th day. To my surprise the Doctor’s written opinions on the third day of my coma, was that I could not possibly come out of the coma. Like Lazarus, I am living a second life on this earth. This poem is not about fiction or insanity, but it is about an enlightenment of spirituality that came from the Almighty, which I received through unmerited grace. This is just one of the many events from the countless encounters I had during the 144 hours of my “out of body” experience.
