MY YESTERDAYS
Contemplating my yesterdays
That held hope for better days,
Then lots are cast unto you
Wondering you are, what to do?

Yes, yesterday when I was young
With laughter and my special song,
I ask, shall I ignore the test
Or do for others what is best!

Searching with every fiber of my being
I hear the voice of the Supreme,
“It is far better to give
For with guilt it is hard to live,”

Remembering the one time I fell in love
My heartaches and pain she did solve,
My responsibilities I was tempted to neglect
Her sincere and unwavering love, I did reject!

So, if she knew how I hurt today
I wonder what she would   say…

Sometimes marriages are born out of circumstances and obligations to family. Then along the way, you meet that special someone that only you know is the one for you, and your heart falls “in love.” But your convictions and responsibilities to family is so deep rooted, you walk away from the one time that you are sure that “true love” did pass your way. Certain I am that in the sight of God it is admirable and rewarding, but for the mortal human, you remain in a paroxysm!
