OH! LOUISIANA
Oh! Louisiana, we have certainly let you down
Water has covered and overwhelmed your town,
Our Government's lethal ineptitude of failing to do
All of our hearts are bleeding for you

Watching your babies starve and die
How your aching hearts must cry,
Already living in poverty with no worldly gain
We cannot begin to imagine your pain

This natural disaster that turned into a human tragedy
Was a consequence of our Government's ideological hostility,
Our Leaders defending this devastating inadequacy
Depicts the nature of their egregious hypocrisy

Oh! Louisiana, please know that many of us care
Oh! Louisiana, on your faces we see your fear,
Oh! Louisiana, I am sorry we let you down
Oh! Louisiana, with faith you will rebuild your town...

"I am certain that each person has their own opinion as to why our Federal Government failed the victims of Hurricane Katrina. For me however, "race" may have played a role in all of this, but the more sinister culprit is the perniciousness of "inegalitarianism". [The disparity in social and economic standing in how our Government thinks about those who have and those that don't ]."
