- LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES
To King Edward V111 - "For his inspiration of True Love"
The King of England with all his heart abdicated the throne For without the woman he loved, he was intrinsically alone In his first words he declared his allegiance to England As King, Constitutionally, he could not be with this
precious woman
Being King, and the woman he loved a "commoner" Was against the rule of Royalty and the British Empire, For the love of his life, he discharged his duty as Emperor Succeeded by the Duke of York, his younger brother
Seeking approval from family, Church and the Political
establishment Was met with no consideration, only opposition and
banishment His love for this lady resulted in media headlines depicting
controversy He became the first British Monarch to resign voluntarily
He publicly announced his decision to a worldwide audience Demoted to Duke of Windsor, he got married in France "I would not carry out my responsibility" he exclaimed! "Without the love and support of this woman I love" she
placates my pain
This King who chose "love" over Pedigree and Appanage Much we can learn to keep our hearts from living in bondage, "For my abdication if called to answer to the Lord above I would simply say - I fell in love."

Author's Comments:
"[Eros] True and sincere reciprocal love
between a man and a woman is what King Edward VIII
found with Ms. Wallis Warfield Simpson (American)
who had been previously married twice before. The
King from 1931 to 1942 lived with the pangs and
pines of love because Ms. Simpson, apart from being
a divorcee was deemed a 'commoner' by Royal and
Constitutional standards. On December 11, 1936 King
Edward announced his abdication of the throne in
order for him to marry and live with the woman he so
dearly loved, and the woman, who reciprocated her
love to the King. On June 3, 1937, previously King
and now Duke married Ms. Simpson in France. By all
accounts Duke Edward and his wife enjoyed a happy
marriage until the death of the Duke in 1972. His
wife died in 1986. I especially admire the former
King for his courage to face the reality of his
predicament, and his conviction to abdicate the
throne and marry the woman he loved. 'There is no
greater gift than Love."
