AFTER LIVING
Does your heart still beat for me?
Am I a distant memory?
Placed my heart in a box to sleep
No more tears, it won’t weep

Buckets of tears, I have shed
For your love, my heart bled
A cry in the wilderness, yes that’s me
Under a distant shady tree

Believed in angels and fairies
Not once did I grow weary,
Until the day love walked away
Leaving my heart in dismay

Mind, body and soul, gave my all
Never did I expect to fall,
Romeo and Juliet, I believed
Sadly awakened, taking my leave

With God’s grace, I shall save face
In His home, I have a place
Perhaps one day I shall find rest
After living and giving my best!
