CHOICES IN LIFE

We can always choose the right way

Or, take the wrong that leads us astray

It is important which one we take

For that determines the life we make

 

Wrong is often fast and expeditious

Especially making us prosperous,

Wrong inherits short term happiness

Its end is bitter with tears and emptiness

 

The right way seems mostly problematic

With impasses that are dramatic,

Happiness quite often is a distant far

But its end, lasting joy with sighs of AH!

 

Whatever choices we have made to this day

We still have the opportunity to say,

Oh lord my God I humbly pray

Henceforth, please lead the way!

If a thing be right, though you lose by it, it must be done! If it be wrong, though you would gain by it, you must reject it for your Lord’s sake. Oh, what are means and ordinances without the smile of Heaven! They are like clouds without rain, and pools without water. O! God of love, open the windows of Heaven and pour us out a blessing!
