IDLE MINDS
It is a beautiful day, so much of God's glory to behold and see
The idle mind strays and wonders, there is nothing here for me,
God looks down calling out, Dear child! What is wrong with thee?
The earth is yours and all its bounties, including the rivers and the seas

My melancholy mind is inattentive, pre-occupied with vanity
Again God cries out, Thou dearest child, why not simply turn to me?
O! Lord, why bother me? I'm just a lost sojourner drifting aimlessly
But thou art my seed, with purpose, please dwell not on tragedy

O! Lord I cannot concentrate on anything that is good in this life
And all I see is desolation and the unending misery of strife,
I think of all the children who have no food nor water to drink
My heart is apace in contemplation of what their little hearts think

There are so many who have more than their share for ten life times
Yet they seek to garnish more, never giving to the needy even one dime,
There are also those in power who can repast entire nations
They too, their days are spent devising repression and destruction

O! child of My bone, who I created in My image
Count thine own blessings and worry not about those of appanage,
For it's my will and only in My time, the meek will inherit the earth
And see the face of God, for certainly, this is no joke!

Author's Comments:
"Those of us who are blessed with shelter, food and water do not realize that every single day more than eight hundred million people, mostly children, go to bed with no shelter, nothing to eat and nothing to drink. It is not the fault of God but the ineptitude of man!"
