STRENGTH
God directs the earth in its orbit and feeds the burning furnace of the Sun
Remember how he spoke his word and creation was done,
He upholds the Universe and hangeth the world on nothing
O! Hallelujahs to Jehovah, whilst singing a blessed song

Whilst the earth’s huge pillars stand, can’t we trust Him for our strength?
Even through trials and afflictions, when our hearts are steadfastly rent!
The spade of troubles digs the reservoir of comfort deeper
Making more room for consolation, from God, our Lord and Redeemer

Unconsciously, we are often most happy in our mountains of troubles
Than when our barn is full and our purse is bursting golden bubbles,
When our gourds are taken away, we go to the Lord in prayer
But during our time of plenty, God was never near

Shall He be unfaithful for His children’s apostasy?
O! No, Thou art our God and strength, with boundless love and mercy,
His grace can never be exhausted, the overflowing storehouse of strength
This we know for certain, but only when our knees are bent!

Until or unless we can drain dry the ocean of omnipotence, till we break into pieces the towering mountains of Almighty strength, we never need to fear. In a world that seems to be spinning out of control, especially, out of the desire of man seeking religious superiority, let us not forget where our security lies. Our true security lies not in the hands of our Leaders, guns, bombs and the destruction of those who may believe or think differently than we do, but our security lies in the “munitions of our immutable God.” God’s strength can never be emptied by Thy friends or rifled by Thy enemies. Let us this day, heed and incline our hearts to the verses of a blessed Hymn; “Now let the feeble all be strong And make Jehovah’s arm their song So may we go from strength to strength And daily grow in grace Till in thine image raise at length We see thee face to face.”
