MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

To: President Abraham Lincoln 1809-1865

Abe's Cries

I am always proud carrying our soldiers all these years
To this day, each and every battle I am filled with tears,
But when boy George landed on me in that jet fighter plane
From 1809 to the present I was never so ashamed

Mine, JFK, Roosevelt and other carriers are for our soldiers
Not for flamboyant showmanship, futility or to impress others,
Since 2001 we are sinking into deeper unforgiving waters
Because of the fantasies and snow jobs by boy George and his critters

New York City is where you find shock and awe
As the unemployment lines grow each day, more and more,
I hear the lament of the 11-million people who are unemployed
While billions are spent for the troops that are deployed

How can we bring economic reform to Iraq, a country so far?
When our oligarchy has no idea, economically, where we are,
At 194, I am dolorous because the food lines are growing long
You are "we the people", stand up and say, this is wrong!

Our government has been for the people, but it's different now
Because all boygeorge thinks about, is his image as you bow,
Don't believe he is promoting democracy the American way
If that was true, we would be in Zimbabwe today!

Author’s Comments;
On May 1st 2003, President George W. Bush landed on the Abraham Lincoln Carrier and the banner behind him read: “Mission Accomplished.” How very sad now three years later that we have lost an additional 2,200 Soldiers and the severely wounded have crossed over the 20,000 mark. Please remember, President Lyndon Johnson in 1967 told the American people that with the Election in South Vietnam, victory is at hand. In 1967 we had lost some 12,000 soldiers and the wounded had crossed over 50,000. However, from 1967 to 1972, we lost an additional 43,000 soldiers and the wounded surpassed 500,000. Do you not hear the ghost from the past being repeated by the ghost at the present? George the burning bush; Cheney the shooter; Rumsfeld the rummy; Rice the mice; they are derelict vessels; they are without rudders and with their Ships being tossed to and fro, so are, the precious blood of the American Soldiers, the emptying of the treasury, and the countless innocent Iraqis that are being slaughtered every day. The “truth” is a replica of the foundation of the earth that is held by the one and only, Almighty God. You can disagree with me all you want, but you would have to ask yourself; “Is this Author’s Comments the truth or a lie?”
