DERELECTION – DISHONOR
- 2001,
President G.W. Bush’s solemn promise
- I am going to restore honor to the White House office,
- Clinton’s escapade with the intern Monica
- Brought to the White House shame and dishonor
-
- Clinton
and Gore spent too much time on Nation building
- I am going to be more conservative in what I am doing,
- There will be no Kosovo military mission
- I will use our troops to protect our nation
-
- The
ideologically demented knocked down our Towers
- A justified hunt was launched for the killers,
- Bush lost his way in this important morale fight
- Choosing instead, Iraq’s disdain and derelict plight
-
- All
of the President’s preambles have turned into
rubbles
- He has placed our soldiers in the midst of sectarian
troubles,
- The truths he has certainly bent
- Now shackled with his Nation’s discontent
-
- Monica’s
dress that carried Clinton’s stain
- Did this cause you heartache and pain?
- Or, did Bush’s hypocrisy and constant lies
- Cause forlorn and endless cries?

King David
did not only sleep with Uriah’s wife Bathsheba, but he
ordered the death of Uriah. During that time he
continually manipulated and lied about the affair to
protect his name from shame, however, when he was
confronted by the Prophet Nathan, King David said; “I
have sinned against the Lord.” (2 Samuel 12:13) David’s
acknowledgment and his contrite repentance inspired him
to write Psalm 51.
Psalm
51: 1-4
-
Have mercy upon me O God,
-
According to your loving-kindness,
-
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
-
Blot out my transgressions
-
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
-
And cleanse me from my sin.
-
For I acknowledge my transgressions,
-
And my sin is always before me
-
Against You, You only, have I sinned,
-
And done this evil in Your sight
-
That You may be found just when You speak,
-
And blameless when You judge.
Regardless of how crimson stained we are, with true and
sincere repentance, God will make us whiter than snow.
Perhaps, just perhaps, Psalm 51 should be our prayer this
night. |
