Reanty

THE MAN THAT WAS!

Head bowed, drooping shoulders, lonely and forlorn

He treads carefully, feet bloodied, clothes torn

Eyes blank, looking but not seeing

Pangs of hunger tears at his insides

He looks around, no man would know him

Unbearable pain claims his soul

Scattered thoughts plague his mind

I had a wife, I had a life!

Tears cascade down his face

As he gently sits on the ground with grace

Claiming dignity, that once was

Mustering strength in a soul that's rent

Oh God! Please bless this man

He has not the strength to make a stand

His lost soul needs to be whole

Perhaps one day it will all unfold!
